About DHDC
Delta Housing Development Corporation (DHDC) is a private non-profit, minority controlled, corporation with the specific intent and purpose of providing a long-range housing delivery system to economically disadvantaged communities and people of Mississippi, particularly in the Mississippi Delta.

Our Services
Pathways to Affordable Housing
Housing Programs
Provides affordable homes to applicants who are elgible to participate in housing program.
Aparment Residence
Provides apartment residence to those who are elgoable to love in units.
Financial Counseling
Provides counseling services to all participants in its housing programs. Counseling is provided in the areas of responsibilities as homeowners, credit worthiness, budgeting, taxes, insurance, mortgage payments, maintenance and upkeep.
Additional Services
Self-Help Housing
DHDC has assisted over 588 families to build new homes utilizing the FmHA 523 Technical Assistance Grant Program and the Department of Labor Farmworkers Housing Programs. Self-help families utilized FmHA Section 502 money for construction. DHDC also received down payment assistance through grant funds from the Mid Delta Empowerment zone Alliance to assist homebuyers reduce their mortgages for homes constructed within the Empowerment Zone. DHDC partnered with Planters Bank and Trust Company and Rural Development to construct homes under the Participation Program through Rural Development with the down payment assistance from a Community Development Block Grant through the Sunflower County Board of Supervisors. DHDC received a Grant from United Parcel Services to construct five (5) self-help houses in the (Dirty Corner) Glendora, Tallahatchie County, MS in the amount of $100,000.00 with administrative support from MHC. After the five (5) homes were completed the community was renamed New Hope. DHDC also constructed five (5) self-help houses in the Town of Beulah in Bolivar County utilizing JTPA Trainee and Community Development Block Grant funds to finance the homes. DHDC was been granted over 3 million dollars over a 27 year period to assist low and very low income families build new homes in Holmes, Bolivar, Tallahatchie and Sunflower Counties.
